I am a mom of 2 kids and 8 cats, and I live for art, nature, growth, introspection, creativity, and adventure. I am a laid-back, tattooed millennial with a love for romantasy books, Star Trek, cartoons like Steven Universe and Adventure Time, painting, and all things spooky.
I grew up in the Reno, NV area, and moved to San Diego in my 20's to pursue a career in pastry arts. I owned and operated a custom cake business for over a decade before turning to my other love, therapy. Losing my mother to suicide propelled me into the field, where I volunteered in crisis prevention before completing the schooling required to become a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (Supervised by Frank Cohn LPC-S). I now live and work in the greater Austin, TX area and am so incredibly fulfilled by my new career. :)
I believe healing happens through acceptance of self and emotions. When we are able to acknowledge our suffering in a safe place, and face all the fear, shame, guilt, anger, and sadness in whole honesty, we can step into who we want to become. I believe that witnessing the somatic expression of our emotions in the body can allow us to truly move through them. I value art and movement as supplements to healing. I am an eclectic, relational therapist who weaves in elements from mindfulness, parts work, and somatic therapy.
